Praveen Chandra Alva takes charge as Opposition Leader in MCC

Mangaluru, Oct 05, 2023: Praveen Chandra Alva took charge as the Opposition leader in MCC on October 5, Thursday. Outgoing Opposition leader Naveen D’Souza handed over charge.

 

Former MLA J.R. Lobo, who spoke on the occasion, stated that although the opposition had only 14 members in the Mangalore City Corporation this time, they would select more than 44 members in the upcoming elections. Praveen Chandra Alva assured that he would work tirelessly as the opposition leader to highlight the shortcomings of the BJP government and lead a people’s struggle. He also expressed his commitment to unite all members of the opposition in the corporation and conduct a people’s fight.

Former opposition leader Navin D’Souza wished Praveen Chandra Alva. Congress leaders Mithun Rai, Vinay Raj, Ravoof, Kavitha Sanil, Shashidhar Hegde, Manappa, Anil Kumar, T.K. Sudhir, Padmaraj, Vishwas Das, Bhaskar Moyili, Abdul Salim, Prabhakar Shriyan, Shalet Pinto, Mamatha Gatty and other leaders were present at the event.
