Mangalore, Jan 1: The renowned Kannada – Tulu litterateur Prof. Amruth Someshwar released a Tulu album called “Pani Pani Barsa” by Arthur Pereira Omzoor at the Milagres Senate Hall on Jan 1, Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The producers of this album are Maa Creations based in Mangalore.
In his address, he said that that the Tulu speaking people will never forget their mother and their mother tongue. Appreciating the hard-working nature of Tulu speaking people, he said that the new album will bring joy to Tulu speakers scattered all over the world. He also said that terrorists would never have existed if their mothers had taught them music.
Manohar Prasad, the guest of honour, said that the music lovers of Tulunadu all over the world can expect many more songs from Arthur Pereira in future. The other guests of honor were Sarvottam Shetty, the president of Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha; Fr. Charles Vas, the director of Mumbai’s Sangeeth Abhinay Academy; Chandrahas Rai, the registrar of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy; and Joseph Mathaias, Editor-in-chief of Daijiworld Pvt Ltd Walter Nandalike and the managing director of the Dubai-based Merit Freight Private Limited.
The highlight of the event was a Tulu musical orchestra presented by Naveen Koppa, Joseph Mathaias, and Soumya Bhat.
Pani Pani Barsa comprises melodious songs composed by Arthur Pereira and sung by singers such as Anuradha Bhat, Harsha Usha Kokila, Hemanth, Subramanya, Raviraj Tantry, and Joseph Mathaias. The music director of Pani Pani Barsa is Cajetan Dias, the popular Sandalwood music director. Alwyn Fernandes, Saju, Butto, and Saju also contributed to this album, which was recorded at Eden Diji Studio, Bangalore, while the mixing and balancing was done in Dynamic Studio, Bangalore. Ronald Colaco, NRI entrepreneur, is the main sponsor of the album.
