Prohibitory orders on twin districts on Jan 4

Mangalore, Jan 03: The deputy commissioners all over the state have clamped prohibitory orders on the day of vote counting on Tuesday, January 1.

 

The electronic voting machines (EVM’s), which contain votes cast by hundreds of thousands of voters, are now under armed guard.

In a bid to maintain peace and law and order during and after the announcement of election results, prohibitory orders will be placed on Udupi as well as DK from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Jan 4, Tuesday.

Sale of liquor has also been banned from Jan 3 midnight to Jan 4 midnight.
