Puttige Mutt’s junior seer to be is Prashanth Acharya, Deeksha April 22

Udupi, Apr 22, 2019: Prashanth Acharya (27), a graduate engineer  of Udupi, will be initiated into sanyasa as the successor of Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji, senior seer of the Udupi Puttige Mutt, today April 22, Monday. He will become the 31st seer of the mutt.

 

The Deeksha ritual will be held at the moola mutt of Puttige Mutt in Puttige village near Hiriyadkka in Udupi district at 11.45 a.m..

Sugunendra Tirtha is the 30th seer of the mutt. He will complete 45 years of his sanyasa on April 22, Monday. Sugunendra Tirtha was ordained into sanyasa when he was 12.

Prashanth Acharya is the son of Gururaja Acharya and Vinuta Acharya of Kunjibettu in Udupi. He has knowledge of Sanskrit, his many qualities have allowed this choice.
