Puttur: Grand Brahmarathotsav at Shri Mahalingeshwara Temple draws thousands with devotion and splendor

Puttur, April 18, 2025: The historic Brahmarathotsava of the renowned Shri Mahalingeshwara Temple in Puttur was celebrated with great splendor and devotion on Thursday night, drawing thousands of devotees. A dazzling fireworks display lit up the skies, becoming the highlight of the festivities and enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.

Earlier in the day, more than 50,000 devotees were served Maha Annadana, a grand community feast that began in the afternoon and extended into the evening. Notably, this year’s fireworks display was made possible entirely through the voluntary contributions and dedicated service of the devotees.

 

 

Post the Brahmarathotsava, a sequence of traditional rituals and processions took place, including the Bangar Kayarkatte Savari, the Bidlkodu of Sri Dandanayaka Ullalthi Daivas, and the Sri Bhutabali Shayana ceremony.

The entire event resonated with spiritual intensity and showcased the rich cultural legacy of the temple, which continues to captivate and unite devotees year after year.
