Puttur: Man arrested for attempted ATM theft in Kalleri village

Puttur, April 11, 2025: Uppinangady police have arrested a man in connection with an attempted theft at a private ATM centre in Kalleri, Karaya village near Uppinangady. The suspect has been identified as 35-year-old Mohammad Rafiq.

According to authorities, Rafiq allegedly broke into an ATM operated by India One, located within the premises of the Thanneerupanta Agricultural Cooperative Society in Kalleri. He is accused of disabling the CCTV camera before attempting to steal money from the machine.

Originally from Kajur, Rafiq had been residing at his wife’s home in Kuppett, where police apprehended him.
