Puttur: Man from Padil arrested for smuggling deer skin

Puttur, Feb 19, 2014 :  A team of officials from the Puttur Forest Vigilance Squad has  arrested a man from Alape, Padil in Mangalore on the charges of  illegally transporting deer skin.The operation followed a tip off.

The squad has also seized the deer skin. It is learnt the accused identified as Shivaprasad Shetty was transporting the same  fro, Bangalore to Uppinangady when he was caught. It is learnt he had purchased  it at Munishwaranagar in Bangalore.

The   operation was led by Umesh Uppalike, Sub-Inspector of Puttur Forest Vigilance Squad. The accused has been handed over to Uppinangady police for further investigation.
