Puttur, April 29, 2025: A tragic incident unfolded near Perlampady on Tuesday morning when a wild elephant attacked and killed a woman.

The attack occurred in the Kaniyaru area of Perlampady while the woman was engaged in rubber tapping. According to reports, a lone elephant suddenly charged at her, resulting in her death on the spot.

Local sources confirmed that the elephant involved in the incident was a solitary animal.
