Mangaluru, Sept 1, 2024: RACHANA Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the ICYM Central Council Diocese of Mangalore, hosted the "Igniting Entrepreneurship" program on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at St. Sebastian’s Church Hall in Bendur, Mangalore. The event aimed to empower young entrepreneurs from the Catholic community of the Mangalore Diocese and nearby regions, drawing a diverse audience eager to learn from experienced professionals.
The program began with a symbolic ceremony where the President of RACHANA, Mr. John B. Monteiro, passed the lighting medium to the Chief Guest, Mr. Rohan Monteiro. He then ignited a torch held by Mr. Winston Sequeira, ICYM President, Diocese of Mangalore, followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. This act, accompanied by sparklers lit by the speakers, symbolized the passing of inspiration to the youth.
In his opening address, Mr. John Monteiro welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of the event in inspiring young minds through engaging sessions, discussions, and activities focused on entrepreneurship. He highlighted the need for such opportunities to foster a larger entrepreneurial community.
CA Vikram Jude Saldanha, the event convener, provided an overview of the event’s objectives, stressing its role in bridging gaps for aspiring entrepreneurs and guiding young talent toward achieving their business goals.
Mr. Winston Sequeira expressed gratitude to RACHANA for organizing the event in collaboration with ICYM and encouraged participants to fully engage and benefit from the knowledge shared.
Chief Guest Mr. Rohan Monteiro delivered an inspiring speech, sharing his personal journey and the challenges he faced in his business endeavors. He emphasized the importance of maintaining quality in goods and services, suggesting that trust and financial success would follow. He likened the business world to navigating waves, where taking risks, believing in oneself, and being resilient are key to success. He encouraged the youth to seize the opportunity to start a business now, reminding them that success and failure are both parts of the journey. He advised starting small, being patient, and working diligently while trusting in oneself and God. He concluded by offering support to aspiring entrepreneurs through RACHANA.
