Relative arrested for murdering elderly woman

Belthangady, July 25, 2022: Dharmasthala Police have arrested a youth on the  charges of murdering an elderly woman at Belalu recently.

The arrested person is Ashok (28). He was a relative of the murdered woman. He  had killed the woman for her jewellery, police said.

 

It is learnt, Ashok used to often visit the woman’s house and even sometimes ask for money. He was working in an ice cream van but of late had quit his job. It is learnt,he also was an alcoholic and had  reportedly killed the woman for her wealth, as he had exhausted all his money.

Police zeroed in on him after  some locals informed the police that they had seen him near the house of the woman, the day she was murdered.
