Mangalore, Aug 1, 2014: Nagabanas as well as shrines dedicated to Lord Naga and Subrahmanya were flocked by devotees on August 1, Friday on the auspicious day of Nagara Panchami when the serpent God is worshipped with great devotion.
Famous temples like Kudupu Sri Anantha Padmanabha Temple and Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple are seeing a huge number of devotees who are arriving to offer special prayers on this day.
Various rituals like Naga Thambila are also offered in Naga Temples as well as Moolasthanas by the devotees.
The Nagara Panchami day falls on the fifth day (Panchami) of the month of Shravana as per the Hindu calendar.
On this day as is the tradition, Serpent God is worshipped by offering him milk, ghee, tender coconut, honey.
