Renovated flag post of Nehru Maidan inaugurated

Mangaluru, Aug 14,2017: DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai inaugurated the renovated flag post at the Nehru Maidan on August 14, Monday.

Speaking to  the media men on the occasion, Rai said  the flag post which was earlier in a bad shape was renovated at the initiative of the Mangaluru City Corporation.  Criticising those who do not prefer to call the ground as Nehru Maidan, Rai said such people need to be made aware of the contributions of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mayor Kavitha Sanil said the flag post was  renovated at a cost of Rs 4.88 lakh and added that the  Ashoka Pillar in the flag post will also be replaced as it has cracks.

JR Lobo, MLA of Mangaluru South, Ivan D’Souza, MLC and Chief Whip, T R Suresh City Police Commissioner, Kumar Additional DC and others were present.
