Renowned Bhagavatha Patla Satish Shetty chosen for Kundeshwar Award

Mangaluru, Jan 18, 2017 : Renowned Yakshagana Bhagavatha Patla Satish Shetty has been chosen for the prestigious Kundeshwar Award this year. The Award presentation ceremony  is scheduled to be held on  January 21.

Satish Shetty  who is from Bantwal, has been a part of the Kateel Durga Parameshwari Yakshagana Mela since the past 12 years.  His Bhagavathike has mesmerized thousands of Yakshagana fans.

 The Kundeshwara Award is being given by the  Karkala Hirgana Kundeshwara Organisation. Jithendra Kundeshwar, President of the Award Selection Committee said the Organisation, through Dhruva Foundation will be constructing 100 houses to homeless artistes  in the next three years. The project is estimated to cost Rs 7 crores to Rs 10 crores, he added.
