Renowned Yakshagana costume designer Balakrishna Nayak no more

Udupi, July 5, 2024: Renowned Yakshagana costume designer and founder of Sri Gajanana Yakshagana Veshabhushana firm, Balakrishna Nayak passed away at a hospital in Manipal on Thursday due to a brief illness. He was 76.

Bhat was  known for preparing crowns and other costumes for the artistes of Badaguthittu Yakshagana. His three sons too have mastered this skill from their father.
