Udupi, Jun 15, 2021: Retired army officer and social worker Col. Ramachandra Rao (88) passed away on June 14, Monday night.
Rao who had held various positions in the Indian Army was also part of the India’s war against China in 1962, against Pakistan in 1967 and the Bangladesh liberation operation in 1972.
Post retirement he had settled in Udupi and was involved in Ex-Servicemen’s Forum, Srikrishna Balaniketana and various other organisations. He was also helping the poor through Naveen Pejawar Trust.
Rao is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
