Bus fined

The bus, transporting passengers who had arrived by train from Mumbai, was stopped at Thokkottu by members of the Dakshina Kannada Taximen’s and Maxicab Association, who alerted the police about the breach.

Following this, the police imposed a Rs 5,000 fine.

The association expressed concerns about financial difficulties, claiming that private vehicles and route buses are increasingly taking passengers arriving by train. They urged the police and the Regional Transport Office (RTO) to enforce stricter measures against such violations.
