SCube Art Gallery launches ‘Weekly Insight’

Mangaluru, July 11, 2022: SCube Art Gallery and Art Kanara Trust have launched ‘Weekly Insight’, a special series of social media posts to promote art and culture in Mangalore. This series aims to connect people through art by presenting the work of one notable coastal artist every week on its Instagram handle gallery_scube, along with an invitation to view the original art work physically at SCube Art Gallery.

The series launch of ‘Weekly Insight’ was held on Saturday, July 9th, 2022 at 6:00 PM at the gallery premises at Kodialguthu Center for Art and Culture, Ballalbagh, Mangalore, in the presence of Dr. Prasanna Rai K., author and former professor of Botany, St. Philomena College, Puttur, and Architect Amit Palia, airport specialist. Internationally renowned Bangalore based sculptural artist Shanthamani Muddaiah attended the event.

Dr. Prasanna Rai presented the paintings by Nemiraj Shetty, Visual Artist and Director of Mindcraft Studios, to signify the inauguration of the series. In his inaugural address, Dr. Prasanna Rai said artists should have a poetic heart.

"Artists have the freedom to reflect on any issue of life,’ he said. Architect Amit Palia expressed happiness at having had the opportunity to interact with local artistic talents and highlight the artistic traditions of coastal Karnataka at Mangalore airport.

Subhas Chandra Basu, President of Art Kanara Trust, gave the introductory note and welcomed the guests. Vivek A. R. introduced the artist. Rajendra Kedige gave a vote of thanks.

The paintings by Nemiraj Shetty will continue to be on display at SCube Art Gallery till Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on all weekdays.
