Mangalore, December 22: ‘The Avon Big Greenathon’, a cycle rally organised by 92.7 Big FM, was flagged off by Dr Subramanyeshwar Rao, Superintendent of Police at Kadri Park on Wednesday, December 22. Riding on their bicycles hundreds of Children and teens participated in the AVON BIG Greenathon.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Subramayeshwar Rao said that the tradition of cycle riding is deteriorating in the nature. School children, who were using cycle to reach the school earlier, are now demanding for motor bikes. He said the younger generation particularly school going kids should develop a habit of preferring bicycles over other mediums of travel. This kind of event will keep the habit of cycle riding alive in the kids as well as school children, he added.
The Chief guests of function Mutalib, proprietor of Taj cycles, appraised the 92.7 Big FM for organizing this kind of big event. He said “we are absolutely delighted to see the participation of the city. We thank all the participants for showing such amazing enthusiasm in taking part. BIG FM has always worked towards making life better, the AVON BIG Greenathon was crafted with an aim to spread a message of greener, cleaner and healthier tomorrow, he said.
