The special train will stop at Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabaka Puttur, and Bantwal stations, with a total of 21 coaches.

Demand for special trains by railway activists

In previous years, special trains were introduced between Mangaluru, Bengaluru, and Mysuru during the Dasara and Deepavali seasons. However, during this year’s Dasara, the routing of Train No. 06569 Yeshwantpur-Karwar Special Express and Train No. 06570 Karwar-Mysuru Special Express via Padil did not benefit Mangaluru-bound passengers. As a result, railway activists requested additional services between Bengaluru and Mangaluru for Deepavali.

Letter from MP

In response to this demand, MP Brijesh Chowta wrote to the General Manager of South Western Railway, urging the introduction of special trains between Bengaluru and Mangaluru for the Diwali festival. He highlighted the convenience it would provide to thousands of passengers traveling from Bengaluru to their hometowns, while also generating additional revenue for the railway department.

Considering the strong demand from passengers, railway activists, and public representatives, South Western Railway has agreed to operate these special trains for Deepavali.
