Sahyadri College to host Smart India Hackathon 2024 Grand Finale

Mangaluru, December 10, 2024: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru, has been selected as one of the prestigious nodal centers for the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024 – Software Edition. The event will be held on December 11-12, 2024, in association with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and AICTE, Government of India.

The announcement was made during a press meet held at Mangaluru Press Club on Monday, December 9, 2024. The event was addressed by Shyamal Kishan, Co-Founder and Director of Covallence Research Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru (Nodal Center Head, SIH); Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director of R&D at Sahyadri College; Dr. S. S. Injeganeri, Principal; Dr. Sudhir Shetty, Vice Principal; Dr. Duddela Sai Prashanth, Nodal Center Coordinator; and Dr. Ahith B.S., Professor and Media Core Committee Member.  

About Smart India Hackathon 

The Smart India Hackathon is an annual initiative by the Ministry of Education and AICTE that encourages innovation, problem-solving, and out-of-the-box thinking among students to address real-world challenges. Since its inception in 2017, the event has grown to become one of the largest hackathons globally.  
In 2024, the hackathon attracted participation from over 5 lakh students, competing in two categories: hardware and software. The Grand Finale will be hosted across 51 nodal centers in India, including nine from Karnataka, with Sahyadri College hosting the event for the second time.
