A standout feature this year is the 11th edition of the Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt (SSTH), an initiative encouraging high school and pre-university students to create solutions for pressing social issues. Through mentorship by Sahyadri’s SHINE program experts, students will be guided on how to approach challenges with innovative thinking. SSTH focuses on themes like sustainability and community impact, encouraging participants to turn their classroom knowledge into practical, socially beneficial projects. In preparation, students have attended hands-on workshops in design thinking and problem-solving at various institutions across Karnataka. During Synergia, they will interact directly with Sahyadri’s engineering students and faculty, immersing themselves in the “Be with Engineering” program to gain insights into engineering and innovation over two interactive days.
Another highlight of Synergia 2024 is Devhost, a 24-hour hackathon organized by the Sahyadri Open Source Community (SOSC). Participants will collaborate on real-world challenges through hackathons, e-sports, workshops, and tech talks, fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills crucial for their careers. Alongside SSTH and Devhost, the Sahyadri Robotics Club (SRC) will hold robotics competitions, including RoboSoccer and the Line Follower Challenge, providing young engineers with opportunities to showcase their technical skills and creativity in a lively competitive setting. An electrifying air show will add a thrilling edge, featuring aerobatic displays, skydiving stunts, and disaster response simulations, aimed at captivating audiences with the precision and artistry of aviation.
Synergia has built a legacy of inspiring youth toward social entrepreneurship and technological innovation. Past editions have successfully launched student projects that have developed into impactful social ventures, with focuses ranging from renewable energy to digital literacy. Many of these projects have even received additional mentorship and support, allowing them to expand into broader initiatives. The influence of Synergia and SSTH has stretched well beyond the campus, fostering a network of innovators who continue to make meaningful contributions to society.
The event is open to the public, and Sahyadri College invites students, educators, and enthusiasts to witness this gathering of visionary minds. Spot registrations will be available for those eager to participate, and industry leaders are encouraged to collaborate with Sahyadri to support the event and contribute to the growth of future innovators.
