In his address, Mr. Bhat said that everybody has talents, which will be developed only when recognized and nurtured. Expressing his appreciation of Sanidhya, he said that the children there have proved that they are unique because they received proper guidance, opportunities, and encouragement.

The social workers, who had rendered valuable services to Sanidhya, were felicitated on this occasion. Sadananda Achary, the art and craft teacher of St. Agnes Special School, who had served Sanidhya by teaching the children clay and wood work, and Sadananda Bajjodi of KMC, who not only donated blood, but also provided it whenever the children needed it, were honored with shawls, citations, fruits, garlands, and mementos.

Mr. Puttaswamy of the DK District Physically Challenged Welfare Committee of Mangalore said on the occasion that Sanidhya houses 87 differently abled children and that many more parents who would like to admit their children to Sanidhya are unable to do so because the institution lacks space and funds.

A wide range of art and craft work such as table clothes, artificial flowers, mats, fancy bangles, decorated candles, stone work, clay items, telephone covers, traditional art work, phenyl, and paintings, made by the children of Sanidhya will be sold on the occasion. The public can view these items and purchase them till 6:30 p.m. on April 17. The children will also present a colorful cultural programme, including a Yakshagana, on the occasion.

Pooja Paduvalkar, a teacher at Sanidhya, delivered the vote of thanks; and Sapna P. Shetty was the MC of the event.
