Second Branch of Axis Bank Inaugurated in Mangalore

The second branch of Axis Bank was inaugurated in Mangalore on October 15, Thursday in Aura Complex, Chilimbi, Urwastore.

Mr. P. G. Ramesh, the commissioner of Mangalore Urban Development Committee inaugurated the bank office; Fr. Victor D’Mello, the parish priest of Urwa inaugurated the ATM centre; and Mr. A. G. Pai, the chief operating officer of Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) inaugurated the bank locker.

Gururaj Rao, the senior vice-president of the bank, said that Axis Bank has 916 branches, including 63 branches in Karnataka, in 575 towns all over India. The bank reaches out to the state’s rural customers. Already, the bank has established its presence in the smaller towns of North Karnataka and has plans to launch a branch in Puttur.

The new branch offers NRI services with NRE, NRO accounts, FCNR deposit, foreign exchange, instant remittance from Middle East, PIS account, and investment advisory services including senior citizens accounts, he added.

Mr. A. J. Shetty, the entrepreneur; Mr. Praveen Suresh, the head of the branch; and Mr. Gregory Fernandes, the head of the main bank branch were present at the inaugural programme.
