Security stepped up in Mangaluru ahead of Ram Mandir inauguration in Ayodhya

Mangaluru, Jan 21, 2024: In anticipation of the inauguration of the Sri Rama Temple and the installation of the Ram Lalla Idol in Ayodhya, extensive security measures have been put in place in Mangaluru city to facilitate the smooth execution of associated events and prevent any potential incidents.

The Mangaluru city police commissionerate has taken precautionary measures to safeguard public interest and maintain law and order. A total of 196 locations within the commissionerate limits have been identified for poojas and religious functions. At 131 sensitive locations or picketing points within the city, officers and staff have been deployed around the clock. Additionally, 57 vehicles (sector mobiles) are conducting continuous patrols within the city to promptly respond to any incidents.

Fourteen checkpoints have been established, and nine CAR parties along with three KSRP platoons are on standby to address any emergencies. Special rounds are scheduled during early morning and late night hours. Anti-sabotage checks will be conducted at significant locations in the city where large gatherings are expected.

Consistent with the state’s practice, no permissions have been granted for processions or rallies. Peace Committee meetings have been conducted at all police stations, led by the respective ACPs.

Vigilance is being maintained over banners and flexes in the city in collaboration with municipal authorities. Organizers have been instructed to ensure the safety of the flexes they have put up.

For the security arrangement, a total of 3 DCPs, 06 ACPs, 11 PIs, and 781 police personnel of various ranks have been deployed.
