Several Muslim girls remove Hijab to enter classrooms, many others abstain

Udupi, Mar 16, 2022: With schools and colleges functioning as usual on March 16, a day after the High Court ruling  that Hijab is not an essential practice of Islam and that students will have to adhere to uniform rules, several Muslim girl students  who arrived wearing hijab and burqa upto their educational institutions  later removed them to enter the classrooms.

However six students of Udupi Government PU College who had moved the court against the ban on Hijab as well as some students of MGM College, Udupi, G Shanker Government Degree College of Ajjarkad, Government Junior College of Kundapur have abstained from classes.

A  few students of Kaup Government First Grade College who arrived wearing Hijab were denied entry into classrooms and the girls were standing outside the gate and demanding that they be allowed inside classrooms

Even many girl students of Kundapur Government Junior College had abstained from classes.
