Several stage protest against GAIL near MSEZ gate; demand permanent employment

Mangaluru, Feb 26, 2024: Several people who have lost their land for JBF staged a protest by resorting to a Rasta Roko near the MSEZ gate on Monday morning  accusing the GAIL India of  refusing permanent jobs to them since one year.

 

The protestors said they have been permanent employees of JBF in MSEZ since the past eight years. But after the company shut its doors in 2020 and later GAIL India took it over in 2023, GAIL has been refusing to reinstate them as permanent employees since one year.

Congress leaders Pratibha Kulai, Shahul Hameed, Jokatte GP member Lokesh Poojary, Bala Panchayat President Shanker Jogi and others are also participating in the protest.
