Soldier from Kundapur among 5 who lost lives in Poonch army vehicle mishap

Kundapur, December 25, 2024: A soldier from Beejadi in Kundapur is among the five people killed after an army truck fell into a gorge near the borders in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The deceased is Anoop Poojary (31). He is among the three from Karnataka who died in the tragic mishap.

Anoop who was in the army since the past 13 years was serving the Maratha battalion. He is survived by his wife and two year old daughter.

Anoop who was in hometown for holidays last month had returned to duty just on December 21. He had also participated in the Kodi Habba at Koteshwar on December 15 and had recently celebrated his daughter’s birthday.

The mortal remains are expected to arrive on December 26, Thursday and last rites will be held at Beejady.
