Mangaluru, July 28, 2024: The South Western Railway (SWR) had initially canceled all train services on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru sector until Monday. However, the cancellation has now been extended indefinitely due to extensive earth embankment work required to restore tracks affected by landslips in the Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road Ghat section.
A section of track between Yadakumari and Kadagaravalli stations on the Western Ghats between Hassan and Mangaluru was impacted by landslips caused by torrential rains on the valley side. Since this area is accessible only by rail, personnel from the Mysuru Division are transporting machinery, equipment, and materials needed for strengthening the embankment via wagons.
