Strong winds push boats anchored at old port towards beaches

Mangaluru, Mar 30, 2021:      The heavy rains accompanied by strong winds that lashed Mangaluru on Monday night resulted in the ropes used to anchor boats at old port getting snapped and the boats   travelling  all the way by themselves to the far off Panambur, Meenakaliya, Chitrapura, Suratkal and Sasihitlu beaches. Several boats from old port area were found in the beach area this morning.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Several boats were damaged in the process and fishermen have suffered extensive losses.
