Students led by ABVP stage huge protest at MU campus

Mangaluru, November 15, 2024: Several students affiliated to the ABVP picketed the administrative building of the Mangaluru University at Konaje on Friday to protest against several issues including marks card problem, increase in college fees and examination fee.

Hundreds of students who had gathered at the campus right since Friday morning, later marched towards the administrative block and tried to picket the building. They even removed the barricades put up by the police. Finally, the police locked the glass doors of the administrative building. However in the melee that followed the glass door was shattered. A police personnel and a student were injured in the incident.

Later, the University Vice Chancellor PL Dharma arrived at the spot along with Syndicate members and the students placed their demands before him. He assured to solve the issues following which the students withdrew their protest.

The protestors have warned of agitation in the days to come if the problems remained unresolved.
