Sullia: Relative pours kerosene over sleeping woman; sets her afire

Sullia, October 16, 2024: A woman sustained serious burn injuries after a relative poured petrol over her and set afire while she was sleeping at her house at Kallarpe in Kodiala village of Sullia.

The injured woman Jayabharathi (56) has been rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru after initial treatment at a hospital in Sullia. The accused person is said to be the brother-in-law of Jayabharathi. A domestic dispute is suspected to be the reason for the incident.

A case has been registered in Bellare police station.
