Sullia: Son dies, mother critical after consuming rat poison

Sullia, April 7, 2025: A mother and a son attempted suicide by consuming rat poison at Nadugallu in Nalkur village.  Of the two, the son died on Sunday, while the mother has been hospitalized.

The deceased is Nithin. His mother Sulochana has been admitted to a private hospital in Sullia. The two had consumed rat poison three days ago.

Nithin was married just a year ago. He along with his mother attempted suicide when his wife who works as a guest lecturer at a local college, had been to her parental home.

Both were found severely ill on Sunday and were rushed to hospital where Nithin succumbed.

The reason behind the suicide attempt is not known.
