T-Shirt and Medal unveiled for Niveus Mangalore Marathon 2022

Mangaluru, 27 Oct 2022: Mangalore Runners Club along with Canara Institutions today unveiled the race day T Shirt and finishers medal for the upcoming Niveus Mangalore Marathon 2022 which will be held on 6th November at Mangala Stadium.

 

 

 

The chief guests were Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel, Honorable MP, and Shri Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, who unveiled the race day T-shirts and medals along with the other dignitaries on the dais, Ranganath Bhat - Hon Secretary Canara Association, Shashir Shetty , Chief Growth Officer-Niveus Solutions, Jithesh Rai, Store Manager - Decathlon, Prashant Shet , Partner - S L het Jewellers ,S Murugesh, Sr. Manager HR & Admin - KIOCL, Abhilash Dominic, Race Director - Niveus Mangalore Marathon 2022 and Amitha D’Souza ,President - Mangalore Runners Club.

The event T shirt is of canary yellow t-shirt with a black rimmed collar. The color of the t shirt represents commitment, energy, freshness, and positivity so much of what the sun depicts in our lives! The medal is piece of art. It embossed with the event logo , MRC logo and a yakshagana pose. Every finisher of the event will receive this beautiful medal.

Amitha D’Souza greeted everyone and welcomed them to the event. She specifically recalled how Mr.Vedavyas Kamath had supported the team during the initial days of the event and helped the team to dream big. Abhlilash Dominic briefed the gathering about the upcoming event and the progress so far. There will be four categories of race, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 2K gammath run - to cater to everyone from a beginner to a seasoned runner. The event will take the participants through the unique route from Mangala Stadium at the heart of the city, through the highway and then to the beautiful review view and to the beach side. This beautiful route is something that will be unique to Mangalore and will provide a great experience to the runners. While the objective of the event is to promote healthy living, it also aims to put Mangalore on the world marathon map by having it organized year on year in a professional way. This would help to popularize Mangalore around the world and attract tourists to our lovely city. The event will also raise funds for the Chetana Child Development Centre, which cares for specially abled children. In line with organizers commitment to a clean Mangalore City, MRC has partnered with TIPS sessions to make this event a Zero Waste Event.

MLA Shri Vedavyas Kamath, in his address mentioned about various sporting facilities coming up in Mangalore. He was enthusiastic and very supportive to MRC for organizing this running event. He urged the organizers to make this event an annual event and extended his and district official support for the event.

MP Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel wished that event be a great success. He thanked all the main sponsors for supporting this event.

The event was hosted by the Canara institutions, one of the event sponsors. The successful event was closed by vote of thanks by Amar, Secretary of MRC. Amar thanked for dignitaries for supporting not only in terms of money but also by spending time in supporting the event. He thanked the friends of media and members of public present in the audience for making this event a big success. The event was compered by Dr. Rashmi Dsouza.
