Talented Sitarist, Expert’s Ankush Nayak secures ‘A’ Grade recognition from Prasar Bharathi

Mangaluru, December 27, 2024: Young and talented Sitar player Ankush N Nayak who is also the Director of the Information Technology Department at Expert Group of Institutions, has secured ‘A’ Grade recognition from Prasar Bharathi in the Hindustani Classical Instrument category. With this recognition Ankush has earned the eligibility to play Sitar in the national and international level in programmes to be held in co-ordination with Prasar Bharathi.

Ankush is the disciple of renowned Sitar player Ustad Rafiq Khan and began learning Sitar at the age of nine.

He is also the recipient of the prestigious Ravi Koppikar Award given by International Foundation for Fine Arts, Avinash Hebbar memorial Youth Award, District Rajyotsava Award and Kala Aparanji Award.

Ankush who has an MS degree in Material Science and Engineering from Arizona University in US is also a BTech degree holder in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from NITK Suratkal. He also has a Certificate in Digital Transformation from Darden School of Business of Virginia University.
