Thonse Narayan Poojary’s book on court happenings released

Mangalore, May 1: H. N. Nagmohan Das, the Karnataka High Court judge, released Thonse Narayan Poojary’s book “Kannonina Padaragalu” at the auditorium of SDM College on April 30, Saturday. The writer is the former vice president of the Karnataka State Bar Council and senior advocate. The book release ceremony was jointly organized by the Academy of General Education of Manipal and Govinda Pai Research Centre of MGM College of Udupi.

After releasing the book, H. N. Nagmohan Das said that the best books of the world guide people along the right path, and that if people love such books, society will improve. Stating that books are still held in high esteem, he pointed out that the number of books being published have not come down in spite of the large number of books that can now be accessed on the Internet. Speaking of the power of books, he said that books can enlighten people as well as destroy them.

Justice Abdul Nazeer presided over the event. The chief guests were Justice B. V. Pinto; K. M. Nataraj, the additional attorney general; and S. P. Chengappa, the president of the Mangalore Bar Association.

Speaking about the book, senior litterateur Erya Laxminarayana Alva said that author has written the truth about the court and has shared his professional experience in a detailed manner. He also added that this is the first book of its kind, written by an advocate with the purpose of explaining happenings in a court of law.

The MC of the event was Shashiraj Rao Kavoor, the attorney. Heranje Krishna Bhat delivered the welcome address.
