Three arrested in Manipal drug bust; narcotics worth ₹50,500 seized

Udupi, April 23, 2025: Manipal police have arrested three individuals following a drug bust at The Down Town Lodge in Dasharatha Nagar on April 22. The raid led to the seizure of narcotic substances valued at ₹50,500.

The accused have been identified as Mohammed Azharuddin from Kaup, Rajesh Prakash Jadhav from Pune, Maharashtra, and Nazil from Malpe.


Drug bust


The operation was initiated after police received a tip-off about the presence of syringes used for drug consumption in Room No. 106 of the lodge. Acting swiftly, officers conducted a raid and recovered various narcotics and related items.

Among the seized items were 13.70 grams of MDMA worth ₹40,000, 225 grams of marijuana valued at ₹10,500, 15 small plastic pouches, five syringes, three 5ml bottles of sterile water, a keypad mobile phone worth ₹500, and a touchscreen mobile phone valued at ₹5,000.

A case has been registered at the Manipal police station, and further investigations are currently in progress.
