Three-day survey of street dogs in Mangaluru to be over on February 15

Mangaluru, February 15, 2025: Mangaluru City Corporation which took up a three-day survey of street (stray) dogs in the city from Thursday, February 13 will complete the survey on Saturday, February 15, according to its Commissioner Ravichandra Naik.

The results of the survey are expected to be announced in a month. In all, 120 volunteers involved in the survey, from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., will be distributed with the certificates at the corporation’s head office at 5 p.m. on Saturday, he said in a release.

Earlier, a pilot survey was conducted in the city on February 10.

The survey was taken up in cooperation with M/S Animal Care Trust, Mangaluru, Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) Organisation, and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The age of dogs, sex, whether sterilised or not, and their health condition were recorded in WVS app., the Commissioner said.
