Three women arrested in separate theft cases in Puttur

Mangaluru, Dec 22, 2024: The Puttur Town police have apprehended three women in connection with two separate theft cases.

In the first incident, Jyoti and Yashoda, residents of Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, were arrested on December 19 for allegedly stealing gold ornaments from Saraswati, a resident of Golthamajalu village. The theft took place at the Puttur KSRTC bus stand. The stolen ornaments, valued at Rs.25,000, were recovered by the police.

In the second case, Vidya, a resident of Neermarga, Mangaluru, was arrested for allegedly stealing three gold rings worth Rs.77,000 from a jeweller’s shop on Court Road, Puttur. The incident occurred on December 13 under the pretext of purchasing gold. Acting on a complaint filed by the shop owner, Shivaprasad Bhat, the Puttur Town police registered a case on December 19. Vidya was arrested, and the stolen gold was recovered.

Investigations in both cases are ongoing.
