Thumbay: Youth breaks glass of govt vehicle; threatens officials

Bantwal, July 16, 2022: An agitated young man who picked up a quarrel over a trivial issue broke the glass panes of a government vehicle and also abused and tried to attack government officials in the car. This incident took place at Thumbay on July 16, Saturday.


The accused identified as Mohammed Shamsuddin (22), a resident of Sajipa.

A case has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police station based on a complaint by the ZP vehicle driver Devadas. Devadas was on way to Puttur from Mangaluru   in the official vehicle along with three officers who had to attend a meeting in Puttur.

When a vehicle which was ahead of the ZP car applied sudden brake, even Devadas applied brake and so did the two-wheeler rider behind the car. However the rider lost balance and fell down. Infuriated over this, he placed his two-wheeler in front of the ZP car and threatened those in the car after breaking the glass of the car.


Later Bantwal rural police have arrested the accused Shamsuddin and produced him to the court.
