Tibetan students march for independence

Mangalore, Mar 10: The Tibetan Students’ Association of Regional Tibetan Youth Congress organized a peace rally in Mangalore on March 10, Wednesday, demanding complete independence for Tibet. 

 

 

 

 

The peace march, which commenced at Jyothi Circle, ended at Nehru Maidan. The students demanded independence for Tibet, which has been under the power of China from 1949. They also drew attention to the fact that China has violated its 17-point agreement with Tibet. 

The students held placards illustrating the dictatorial policies of China in Tibet and said that “people’s rights have been denied to them” and that “Tibet is not a part of China.” 

The peace march was organized in order to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the peaceful national uprising of Tibet against China.
