Mangaluru, Oct 11, 2016: Polali Tigers emerged winners at the third season of Pili Nalike competition at Volley Ball court near Mangala Stadium on October 10, Monday. The competition was organized by Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, in association with Namma TV.
Addressing the gathering, former Minister Abhaya Chandra Jain said during his tenure as the Youth Empowerment and Sports Minister he had promoted kambala and included it for the Kreeda Rathna Award. Now it’s time to recommend Pili Nalike for the Kreeda Rathna Award, he added.
Minister for Food and Civil Supplies UT Khader congratulated Mithun Rai for taking up the initiative in promoting Tiger Dance and helping them to get recognition in National Level. Tiger Dance is the culture and tradition of coastal region and should also be encourage for the same, he said.
Youth Congress President Mithun Rai said that winning and losing is part of the game. This competition was organized to encourage tiger dancers and gain people’s support, he added. "Today nine teams presented their skills, the people of Mangaluru gathered in large numbers and hope to get the same support in coming seasons too," he said.
Meanwhile Judges of Pili Nalike 3, Sudhakar Pejavar and Venkat were felicitated during the occasion.Former Minister Abhaya Chandra Jain and Food and Civil Supplies Minister UT Khader distributed prizes to the winners.
