Triple Talaq in WhatsApp: Sullia woman files police complaint against hubby

Sullia, Sept 18, 2023: A woman hailing from Jayanagar in Sullia taluk has lodged a complaint at the Sullia police station against her husband who gave her Triple Talaq over WhatsApp. The woman’s husband is working abroad and the couple has two daughters.

The accused husband is Abdul Rasheed who hails from Thrissur in Kerala. He had married the woman seven years ago. Abdul had taken his wife abroad two years ago but had later left her in Sullia for her second delivery.

Though the couple reportedly had some discord of late, the same was set right by elders. Still Rasheed has divorced his wife through Triple Talaq over WhatsApp.
