Trippers being installed in fuse meter boxes to avert electrocution

Mangaluru, June 29, 2024: Following a directive from Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan, the MCC with the help of MESCOM  has started installing trippers in the fuse meter boxes to prevent electrocution in the event of snapping of power cables.

The measure has been taken after two autorickshaw drivers got electrocuted after live electricity cable fell over them near the Rosario school.

There are over 1600 fuse meter boxes in MCC limits and the task of fixing trippers is expected to be completed in the next four days. With the trippers,  electricity supply would be cut off automatically whenever an electricity cable gets snapped off.
