Two held for murder of retired headmaster

Mangaluru, August 25, 2024: Two individuals have been arrested by Dharmasthala police for allegedly murdering a retired headmaster, SP Balakrishna Badekkilaya, in Belalu on August 20.

The suspects, Raghavendra, the victim’s son-in-law, and Muralikrishna, his grandson, were reportedly involved in a property dispute with the victim, which is believed to have led to the crime.

It was previously reported that the retired headmaster was found dead at his residence in Belalu on Tuesday. According to SP Yathish N, one of the suspects has a criminal background and was previously involved in an attempted murder case registered at Badiadka police station in Kasargod.
