Uchila: Hundreds block NH 66 to protest against serial accidents

Kaup, January 20, 2025: Citizens under the leadership of Uchila Nagarika Horata Samithi staged a Rasta Roko agitation on the National Highway at Uchila town to protest against the serial accidents leading to deaths in the area.

The protest led by Congress leader and former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake was participated by hundreds of people who blocked traffic on the NH 66.

Udupi-Chikkamagalur MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty and Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna arrived at the spot and accepted memorandum from the locals.

Sorake took the authorities to task and sought an urgent meeting with officials to solve the issue.

Nagarika Samithi President Siraj Uchila, GP Chief Shivakumar Mendon and others took part in the protest.
