Udupi DC, SP inspect Indrali bridge works

Udupi, January 16, 2025: Udupi Deputy Commissioner Vidyakumari and SP Dr K Arun on January 15, Wednesday inspected the works of the Indrali bridge on the NH 169A works. The inspection followed the non-completion of the bridge works even after the deadline expired.

The bridge works had commenced seven years ago. Recently the contractors had assured that the works would be completed by January 15 and had given this in writing at the Udupi Traffic Police Station. However the despite the January 15 deadline crossing, the works remain incomplete.

DC Vidyakumari  after inspecting the works said there was shortage of space to deploy additional JCBs for work. Even the nearby electric poles and the movement of vehicles were posing challenges leading to cautious, slow pace works. Despite the hurdles, the concerned authorities have been asked to complete the works within a month, she said.
