Udupi: Ex-MLA Raghupathi Bhat says he would surely contest next Assembly elections

Udupi, January 22, 2025: Former Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat has expressed his desire to contest the next Assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters, the expelled BJP leader who had contested the last elections as a rebel and lost, said he was firm in his decision to contest the next elections but he had ample time to decide on the party from which he would contest.

He said he was open to rejoin the BJP if the party invites him. At the same time he said he felt that the BJP did not need his service. He also said he has not held any talks with regard to joining the Congress or any other party. No Congress leader has contacted me, he said. He said he has registered for the primary membership of the BJP and added it was not yet clear if the BJP local committees would approve it.
