Udupi SP warns against spreading fake news on child kidnapping

Udupi, Sep 16, 2022: Udupi District Superintendent of Police Hakay Akshay Machindra has warned against spreading fake news on social media regaring kidnapping of children.

 

The SP’s warning came following recent instances of several fake news which are circulating and claiming that there have been kidnapping of children. Many such  videos are  unrelated and are those from  other countries.

The fake videos had led to a panicky situation forcing people to view many with an eye on suspicion. The SP has also cautioned public  against taking law into their hands and has requested to dial the helpline 112 in case of any suspicion.
