Udupi: Scorpio catches fire on NH 66, occupants escape unhurt

Udupi, January 6, 2025: A Scorpio vehicle traveling on NH 66 between Udupi and Mangaluru caught fire near Tenka Ermalu.

The blaze reportedly started in the engine compartment of the vehicle, which belonged to residents of Balkunje.

Exhibiting quick presence of mind, the driver and two passengers safely evacuated the vehicle, preventing any injuries.

With the timely assistance of locals and a swift response from the Udupi district fire service personnel, the fire was successfully extinguished.
