Udupi: Three arrested for fake promise of medical seat in UK

Udupi, January 22, 2025: The Police have arrested three persons on the charges of cheating a man from Udupi after promising a MPH medical seat in UK.

Those arrested are Suman (24) of Shivamogga, Mohammad Mahaz (23) and Suhan Khan (22) of Moodbidri. Police have seized cash, car and other goods worth Rs 9.56,000 from them.

Santosh E who has completed graduation in general medicine, had filed a complaint alleging that they had promised him a seat to pursue MPH degree in UK. Santosh said he had met the accused Aftab in Dubai and he had promised a seat for Rs 18 lakh and demanded an advance payment of Rs 8.5 lakh. Later the complainant met Suman at Udupi and transferred Rs 8.5 lakhs. However later when the accused could not be contacted, Santosh filed a police complaint.
